I really needed to update my bathroom faucet. When our house was built 10 years ago, we used many builders' grade fixtures and it was time for a change.Moen makes excellent products and this is no exception. We are by no means plumbing experts, but we just removed the old faucet using both the printed material that comes with the faucet and some "on line" information and replaced it with the new, beautiful Moen faucet. The operation of the faucet is very smooth with the single handle and is a very sturdy product. In fact, I was surprised at the weight of the faucet when we removed it from the box--at least compared to my old faucet. I am so pleased with the brushed nickel finish that the next time I replace fixtures I am going to use the brushed nickel. It does not show water marks like the "old stainless" nor fingerprints. Moen has been at or near the top of the list for bathroom and kitchen faucets and fixtures for decades, and rightly so. The Moen 6810BN is simply beautiful, allowing one-hand control and and the ability to close and open the sink's drain. The brushed nickel finish (that's what the BN is in the model number) is satiny smooth and simply stunning. It's also available in chrome finish (model 6810) if that fits better with your other fixtures, and which is about $45 less expensive. The large base plate will cover the holes in your countertop where the taps would normally go, if you're replacing a traditional 3-hole unit. It will also mount as a single hole unit in new construction. Brushed nickel will also work with brushed stainless steel if you have other fixtures in this finish. This Moen faucet is really nice looking. It has definitely "classed up" my bathroom. I replaced an old leaky faucet and it is wonderful to have something that looks this good and works so smoothly. The brushed nickel finish is resistant to waterspots and fingerprints and so it looks good longer.The installation instructions were a mess. Many important steps did not come with pictures or drawings and I was completely baffled by the directions. I almost gave up just upon reading the instructions! Fortunately, I was replacing a similar faucet and so I was able to install this one by looking at how it was done on the old one. I highly recommend this faucet, but if you are a plumbing idiot, like me, you will want to get someone to do it who knows what they are doing because the directions won't help much. |
